Photography Workshop with Naturalist Bryan Pfeiffer

Leaping Gray Jay

Naturalist Bryan Pfeiffer has accumulated a dazzling array of images during three decades of a life outside. His upcoming exhibit at Korongo (October 14–November 23) will feature a three-part workshop aimed at helping nature lovers capture better results with their digital cameras:
Tuesday, October 18
, 5–8 pm: Photography Fundamentals. Learn the universal rules of photography: shutter speed, lens opening, metering, focusing and flash. With these fundamentals you will begin to understand how your digital camera thinks. This session is a tune-up for greater things to come.
Tuesday, October 25
, 5–8 pm: Know Your Camera.
You can’t take great photos unless you and your camera communicate beyond AUTO mode. You’ll learn to set your camera for the photo you want. And you’ll recognize when your camera is plotting against you, to misbehave and sabotage your work. Think of this workshop as camera couples counseling.
Tuesday, November 1

, 5–8 pm: Get Your Best Shot. You and your camera can have a great relationship, but only if you two cooperate. We’ll use our cameras in exercises designed to help you capture great images indoors and outside: people, pets, wildlife, flowers, landscapes, tricky lighting, macro photography, composition and your own photographic “issues” or creative aspirations.
To register: Send Bryan an email at bryan@wingsphotography.com or call the gallery (802-728-6788). Cost is $40 per session. Hurry, space is limited. For more about Bryan, check out his blog The Daily Wing.
